Light Features
- Totally redesigned electronics - new printed circuit board, addition of a boost converter, addition of one transistor per LED - vice one per light
- New switch will allow for the light to have three (3) settings - low, medium and high - this will allow for extended periods of use - conservatively, high will be for 5/6 hours, medium 6/8 and low, 8/10
- Batteries to be air-cooled with an innovative shift in the mold - isolating each battery in its own compartment and then suspending this with vanes which allow for heat to be radiated away from the light when charging and the batteries remain at ambient temperature
- Single mold case vice bilateral symmetry and no screws to hold the light together, light will be water proof vice water resistant
- Six (6) LEDs for normal illumination, additional three (3) LEDs for room illumination - this is a result of the funding we received from the Rockefeller Foundation - the switch will allow for click transfer between the systems
- Three (3) NiMh batteries - greater efficiency and better for the environment - we no longer use NiCad batteries
- Totally redesigned attach point allowing for one-hand use
- Uses and Benefits:
- Emergencies - very useful for night time search and rescue, car breakdowns, blackouts, and power outages due to storms, tornadoes, and hurricanes.
